Jaynes Family History
1839 - 1992

The smell of the dirt roads after the rain
The sound of the rooster crowing in the early morning
The taste of watermelon and sugar cane
The look of the sky as a storm came without warning
Playing and running and messing around.
Spending all day Saturday shopping in town
B.B. guns and sling shots
Chasing cows and throwing rocks Walking up and down din
roads
Hunting birds, rabbits and toads Homemade biscuits,
cakes, and pies
Was Mississippi to me
From my childhood eyes
